As a resident of Evanston, I am absolutely thrilled to be teaching in this community that I love! My husband, Lucas, and I have lived here for over two years now, and we love to walk or bike to the lake, try new restaurants in town, and attend the many wonderful community events.
Prior to teaching in Evanston, I taught preK-grade 4 music and orchestra in Lake Forest. I attended Northern Illinois University where I received my Music Education degree with violin as my primary and voice as my secondary. I have also completed my Orff-Schulwerk Levels I, II, and III Certification through VanderCook College of Music, Kodaly Level I at DePaul School of Music, Musikgarten Cycle of Seasons Training, and Music Rhapsody Teacher Training with Lynn Kleiner. This past January, I also began my Master's in Early Childhood Education.
Outside of the Willard and Dewey walls, I have several performance opportunities of my own! I love playing my violin inThe Evanston Symphony, Chicago Tap Theatre, Schweitz Family Strings, and Jan Sobieski String Quartet. I am also involved with music at my church here in Evanston. If that does not keep me busy enough, I enjoy reading, hiking, and spending time with my musical husband, who also teaches piano, drum, and guitar lessons in the area!
